Starting your first project
When logging in for the first time and with no previous products or projects saved, you will be directed to the edit settings screen and requested to enter your user information.
If you have been provided with a demo project you will be directed straight to the product list screen.
Otherwise and with no other projects started, you see the following screen.
1. Click on New Project
This screen will only be visible the first time you log in, or if you have deleted all the projects in your dashboard.
2. Enter the Product Designation
This product name will be used throughout the application, appearing in your final documentation and declarations. You can edit it at any time later, but choose it carefully. Then click "Create". You will be taken to the product overview.
3. Choose a project language
You have a choice as to the language you wish to create project with. These are displayed in the drop down menu.
Any document translations undertaken or declarations created in the application will then use this language as the basis and starting point.
4. Using a previous CERTAIN-project or product as a template
Here you have the option to use an existing product evaluation as the basis for your new product. Choose Copy an existing product and select the previous product you wish to use as basis from the dropdown list.
💡 Project templates - a useful tool
To save significant time and effort repeating work on similar families of products, you have the option here to use previous products as templates.
If you select this option a dropdown will open allowing you to choose an existing project. In this case, you must always define a new product name for the duplicate project before proceeding.
5. Click on Create
Your new project will be created and added to the project list.
6. Product Overview
This is the product overview page. At this point it is still empty with only the product designation visibile.
On the left you can see the CERTAIN main menu. This will be explained in detail separately.
On the right you can see the first three steps in the process, ready for you to begin.
7. Click on the Key Data button
You'll then begin entering your key project and product information.
